Psalm 3:1-8

  1. Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

  2. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for them in God.

  3. But thou, O Lord art a shield for me; my glory and the lifter up of my head.

  4. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill.

  5. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.

  6. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

  7. Arise, I Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

  8. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people.

John 3:16-21

  1. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  4. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

  5. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

  6. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Week of October 7th, 2001
1 John 1:1-9

  1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

  2. (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

  3. That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with the Son Jesus Christ.

  4. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

  5. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.

  6. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

  7. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.

  8. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

  9. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Week of September 30th, 2001
Romans 5:1-8

  1. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

  2. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

  3. And not only so, but we glory in tribulation also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

  4. And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

  5. And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

  6. For when we were yet without strength in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

  7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even date to die.

  8. But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

  3. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

  4. That no flesh should glory in His presence.

  5. But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

  6. That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

  4. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

  5. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

  5. Come behold the works of the Lord, what desolations He hath made in the earth.

  6. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire.

  7. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

  8. The Lord of hosts is with is; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

1 John 4:1-4

  1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:  Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

  3. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

  4. Ye are of God: little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

  4. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

  5. The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

1 Corinthians 15:51-58

  1. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

  2. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

  3. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

  4. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

  5. O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE, WHERE IS THY VICTORY?

  6. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

  7. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  8. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in Lord.

Isaiah 6:1-8

  3. And one cried unto the other, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.

  4. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of Him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

  5. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

  6. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.

  7. And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

  8. Also, I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us: Then said I, Here am I; send me.

  3. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit on his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

  3. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.

  4. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, even our faith.

  5. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

  6. This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood.  And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.

  3. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

  4. Abide in me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

  5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

  6. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

  3. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

  5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

  2. Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into His death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

  3. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection:

  4. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

  5. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

  2. For He shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.

  3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

  4. Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did not esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

  5. But He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 4:12-19

  2. But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
  3. If ye be reproached for the Name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of, but on your part He is glorified.
  4. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evil doer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
  5. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
  6. For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
  7. And IF THE RIGHTEOUS SCARCELY BE SAVED, WHERE SHALL THE UNGODLY AND THE SINNER APPEAR?

  3. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

  4. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

  5. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls.

  6. But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

  5. Fear not: for I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

  6. I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

  7. Even everyone that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

  5. O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE WHERE IS THY VICTORY?
