Scripture for the Week of
November 11th, 2001 Psalm 3:1-8
-
Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they
that rise up against me.
-
Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for
them in God.
-
But thou, O Lord art a shield for me; my glory and the
lifter up of my head.
-
I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and He heard me out of
His holy hill.
-
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained
me.
-
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have
set themselves against me round about.
-
Arise, I Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all
mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
-
Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy
people.

Week of
November 4th, 2001 John 3:16-21
-
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life.
-
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the
world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
-
He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.
-
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were
evil.
-
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither
cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
-
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds
may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts
with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.

For the Lord is good: His mercy is everlasting; and His

Week of
October 7th, 2001 1 John 1:1-9
-
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands
have handled, of the Word of life;
-
(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear
witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and
was manifested unto us;)
-
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that
ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the
Father, and with the Son Jesus Christ.
-
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be
full.
-
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and
declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
-
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in
darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
-
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth
us from all sin.
-
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us.
-
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Week of
September 30th, 2001 Romans 5:1-8
-
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ:
-
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein
we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
-
And not only so, but we glory in tribulation also: knowing
that tribulation worketh patience;
-
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
-
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed
abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
-
For when we were yet without strength in due time Christ
died for the ungodly.
-
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet
peradventure for a good man some would even date to die.
-
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation
of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise
men after the flesh, not many mighty, nor many noble are called:
-
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to
confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty;
-
And base things of the world, and things which are despised,
hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things
that are:
-
That no flesh should glory in His presence.

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him

-
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me
beside the still waters.
-
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for His name sake.
-
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of
death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they

-
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some
have entertained angels unawares.

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but
whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
-
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be
content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave

from day to day.
-
Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all

-
For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: He is to

-
For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made

Week of
July 29th, 2001 Matthew 7:7-12
-
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find;
knock and it shall be opened unto you:
-
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
-
Or what man is there of you, whom it his son ask bread, will
give him a stone?
-
Or if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent?
-
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto
your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good
things to them that ask Him?
-
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do
to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Corinthians 15:52-58
-
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and
we shall be changed.
-
For this corruptible must put on incorruptible, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
-
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and
this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
-
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
-
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the
law.
-
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through
our Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Therefore my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your
labor is not in vain in the Lord.

-
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

-
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever
things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there
be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
-
Those things, which ye both learned, and received, and

-
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be
perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

-
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers
temptations;
-
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh
patience.
-
But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be
perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
-
If any lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all
men liberally, and unbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
-
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that
wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
-
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of
naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to
save your souls.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in
trouble.
-
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and
though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
-
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the
mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
-
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our

-
Come behold the works of the Lord, what desolations He hath
made in the earth.
-
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He
breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in

-
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed,
-
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for
the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
-
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this
mortal must put on immortality.
-
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and
this mortal shall have put immortality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
-
O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE, WHERE IS THY VICTORY?
-
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your

In the year King Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting
upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
-
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with
twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with
twain he did fly.
-
And one cried unto the other, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is
the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.
-
And the posts of the door moved at the voice of Him that
cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
-
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man
of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for
mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.
-
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal
in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar.
-
And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched
thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
- But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that
when His glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
- If ye be reproached for the Name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit
of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part He is evil spoken of,
but on your part He is glorified.
- But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evil
doer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
- Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him
glorify God on this behalf.
- For the time has come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if
it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel
of God?

heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
-
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from
the enemy.
-
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the
covert of thy wings.
-
For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the
heritage of those that fear thy Name.
-
Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many
generations.
-
He shall abide before God for ever; O prepare mercy and
truth, which may preserve him.
-
So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may
daily perform my vow.

THEREFORE being justified by faith, we have peace with God

4:4-9, 19
-
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
-
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is
at hand
-
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
-
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall
keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
-
Finally brethren, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever
things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things
are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise,
think on these things.
-
Thos things, which ye have both learned, and received, and
heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
-
But my God shall supply all your need according to His
riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

-
I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall
continually be in my mouth.
-
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall
hear thereof, and be glad.
-
O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name
together.
-
I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from
all my fears.
-
They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces
were not ashamed.
-
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him
out of all his troubles.
-
The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear
Him, and delivereth them.
-
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man
that trusteth in Him.

Ephesians 6:11-18
-
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be
able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
-
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
-
Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of
God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all,
to stand.
-
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about
with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
-
And your feet shod with the preparation of
the gospel of peace;
-
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all of the fiery darts of the wicked.
-
And take the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:
-
Praying always with all supplication in the
Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for
all saints.

from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no
variableness, neither shadow of turning.
-
Of His own will begat He us with the word of
truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
-
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man
be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
-
For the wrath of man worketh not the
righteousness of God.
-
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and
superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word,
which is able to save your souls.
-
But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers
only, deceiving your own selves.

-
O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good:
for His mercy endureth forever.
-
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He
hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
-
And gathered them out of the lands, from the
east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
-
They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary
way; they found no city to dwell in.
-
Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in
them.
-
Then they cried unto the Lord in their
trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.
-
And He led them forth by the right way, that
they might go to a city of habitation.
-
Oh that men would praise the Lord for His
goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and
filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to

If ye be reproached for the name of Christ,

But let none of your suffer as a murderer, or

For the time is come that judgment must begin
at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of
them that obey not the gospel of God?
-
And IF THE RIGHTEOUS SCARCELY BE SAVED, WHERE
SHALL THE UNGODLY AND THE SINNER APPEAR?
-
Wherefore let them that suffer to the will of
God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a
faithful Creator.

Week of January 23rd, 2000 Psalm 138
- I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise
unto thee.
- I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise the name for thy
lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy Word above all
thy name.
- In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with
strength in my soul.
- All of the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear
the words of thy mouth.
- Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of
the Lord.
- Though the Lord be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly: but the proud
He knoweth afar off.
- Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shall
stretch thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall
save me.
- The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord,
endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Week of January 16th, 2000 Isaiah 35:3-10
-
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
-
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear
not: behold, your God will come and save you.
-
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of
the deaf shall be unstopped.
-
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of
the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in
the desert.
-
And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty
lands springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall
be grass with reeds and rushes.
-
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be
called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall
be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
-
No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up
thereon, it shall be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
-
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,. and come to zion
with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and
gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Week of January 9th, 2000 Psalm 139:1-5,13,14
-
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
-
Thou knowest my downsitting and my uprising, thou
understandest my thoughts afar off.
-
Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and are
acquainted with all my ways.
-
For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou
knowest it altogether.
-
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand
upon me.
-
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me
in my mother's womb.
-
I will praise thee, for I am wonderfully made: marvelous are
thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.
